Evaluation Question 3
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
Feedback from my audience for my final products
Survey
Audience feedback has been useful throughout the construction of my products; it has helped in forming the ideas for my products as well as tracking how it has progressed. When creating my initial narrative ideas, I used verbal responses from my target audience to find out which idea was seemed to be most interesting and why. This was helpful as before even beginning to construct my products, I was aware that my product would grab the audience’s attention. It benefitted my work as it meant that there was less improvements to be made in later development, as they idea had already proven to be popular within my target audience. This also meant that there was a longer period of time towards the end of the construction to focus on the smaller details, rather than having to change the products to suit the target audience.
For each stage of the construction, it has given improvements which have allowed me to develop my products with my audience in mind. This means that my products were better suited for my target audience; this would increase its effectiveness in marketing. Feedback has changed my work in both smaller details and larger portions; this means that any of my work would receive more of a positive reaction. Leaving audience feedback until the final evaluation would have meant that my products wouldn’t have been developed. It may have meant that there were simple improvements which could have created a more realistic and professional product. It could also have meant that the construction may not have attracted the target audience at all, meaning that the products would have failed its purpose.
If I were to do this project again with this feedback, I would do more research into existing products and place this alongside the feedback. This would mean that I was more aware of if my products were following conventions or stretching the boundaries, this would benefit my products as it would allow me to either follow more strict conventions or apply conventions from other genres which I may have not considered before. I would also gain specific feedback which I did not receive until the final evaluation, for example, the first piece of music within my trailer which received some mixed reviews. This would allow me to build on the feedback which I already have, and give a larger sample; this means that I could be more confident that any improvements would match my target audience’s interests with a larger amount of feedback.
Overall, audience feedback has been important in the construction as well as evaluation of all three products, and has helped to create a trailer, poster and magazine front cover which correlate with what the audience expect to interact with and enjoy to as well.

Magazine front cover - Final Draft
As the image of the protagonist actor is the most important feature on the front cover, I wanted it to be in front of the masthead rather than it being blocked by it. Photoshop was used to cut around the border of the image as it allowed a better quality than was available on Sketch, it was then superimposed in front of the masthead. This allowed my image to stand out more against the other surrounding text and does not affect the legibility of the masthead either.
